| Don Iago de Caranza |
|
Tags: Don Iago de Caranza made an instant impression on Avorn Hathol and company. Iago is tall, with dark skin and black hair, with a slightly haughty manner. His white arabian stallion is gorgeous, too. Caranza is in north west Estallia. Iago has spoken briefly of his family - we know that it is large, and wealthy. Of more interest to Avorn, though, was the news that Iago's brother is married to Nancy Bechet's cousin Imperatrice, and that Iago once knew Philipe De Coffre. In Poitiers at the turn of the year, Iago introduces his new friends to two males cousins of Nancy. A tense and polite dinner ensued with Gerard and Theodore, a pair of chubby fops. Iago was eventually persuaded of the threat that Nancy posed. When she was spotted entering an isolated tower in Mousillon, he went in on his own, and had a nervous dinner with Nancy and the noble she was staying with. Iago saw her dark side in the midnight fight that followed. Avorn Hathol later blew himself and Nancy up, bringing down the tower. Iago hated the stench, the mess, and the ugly, ugly people in Mousillon. He considered returning to Estalia. The quest for The Brass Skull drew him in, though, and in the end it was Iago who accompanied Yann Dervalk and the skull out of Bretonnia. Iago was injured in a fight along the Gisoreux Gap, which slowed him down. He got into a little bit of a mis-understanding with a noble near Marienburg before heading back up the River Reik. He met with Orpheus et al again near Corroburg. Listen - After Hans' death, Iago explains his reasoning for revenge.
