Fortysomething curly-haired dish Yann Dervalk was the Grey College's agent in Marienburg for many years. Maude and Josef sought him out when they first passed through the port on the trail of Nancy Bechet. Dervalk had picked up on Nancy, (or rather, had sensed the evil emanating from The Brass Skull) when she was in Marienburg on her way to Bretonnia. She'd gave him the slip though. Dervalk was then sent to Mousillon by The Greys to investigate rumours of an uprising against the Bretonnian King, led by a noble known as The Black Knight. Exiled former Grand Theogonist, Johann Esmer, had Dervalk carry a letter to the foul city, hoping he would run into Hans Birger. Dervalk became involved in the recovery of The Brass Skull, and carried it back to Marienburg, accompanied most of the way by Don Iago de Caranza. Gunther Weiss killed Dervalk in Marienburg, and stole The Skull.
