Peppy Gutrund
Despite a dreadful broken nose, Peppy Gutrunds' startling good looks (for a Halfling) stood him in good stead in both his business dealings and his relationship with his wife Laura. Son of Herman and Steppi, Peppy quickly realised that a life in The Moot was not for him, and in a few brief years of adventuring acquired both wealth and two children.

Peppy's time in Middenheim nearly ten years ago was busy. It appears that as well as investigating the spread of chaos cultists through the upper echelons of Middenheim society, he was also busy networking in the Merchants' Quarter. Peppy had decided that his young family needed him with them all the time, not just in the gaps between daring quests. Besides, Castansia Lovespoon, despite his efforts, only saw him as a friend.

Peppy now lives most of the time in Middenheim, in the largest of the four houses he owns, collecting rent from the other three. Amongst other ventures, he sells beer to Bretonnia, and brings back fine wine. He does still venture out into the world on his boat which is his pride and joy, and is called The Star-has-flown-over-the-mountains. His nephew Jethro Tumbleberry almost always accompanies him on these trips.

It was on Peppy's boat that Meckins first appeared telling tales of a Dragon and a wizard in trouble.
