The surviving member of the group of attackers is taken onto the Elven boat, and the three dead men are searched. Nothing much of interest, although the leader, Siggy, has a small symbol of a red crown tattooed just below his left collarbone, and has on his person a short wand, which is black and made with some sort of cold stone.
The Lucky Lady is also searched. Not much here, either, saving some spare printed flyers that Siggy distributed to attract sell-swords to kidnap Gregor and Tilly for him. A couple of barrels of brandy in the hold, though.
Luger Retter reveals that, as well as several groups of Witch Hunters searching for the party, Iago is being persued up the Talabec by a noble called Markus Jägereiche. Something about Iago having killed his brother in defence of a peasant girl. Iago rolls his eyes, and doesn't particularly elaborate further.
Belongings are moved over to Retter's boat. Orpheus unties Axel and Felix, and explains that Luger has rescued them from the Dwarf and The Foreigner, who have both 'run off into the woods'. Axel and Felix buy this story, and plan to head back down to Ravenstein.
Hanzkreuz Bisswelt lies unconsciousness in the hold of the Midden Star. Maude decides not to kill him, so he is instead tied up.
From his vantage point up in his room, Orpheus sees someone come out onto the deck of the 'Daemon Tooth' boat, and cast off. Kurt, one of Bisswelt's interchangeable minions, knocks on his door at this point, still hunting for the person seen breaking into the inn. Orpheus tells him about the departing boat. He rushes off. Orpheus gathers his things and follows him.
Kurt and Klinger are told by Maude that Bisswelt was on the other boat when it left. He's been kidnapped! Kurt decides to requisition The Midden Star. Orpheus rejoins his companions on the boat, and it moves out into the Talabec, in pursuit.
Fingling Deepdelve, a Dwarf from Karak Kadrin, found gold in Lustria, but had it stolen off him on the way home by Estalian pirates. Worst of all, another Dwarf in his party, Morgrim Dimronsson, did a runner just after they made landfall in southern Bretonnia.
Fingling made his way to Altdorf, looked up with old chum Looselips Pig-gulper, and met Maude, Orpheus and Iago. Fingling is on his way to Talabheim, to 'have a word' with Morgrim's brother, and perhaps find out where the traitor fled to...
Listen - Over breakfast in The Boar's Rest, Fingling tells Looselips about the trip to Lustria.
Fortysomething curly-haired dish Yann Dervalk was the Grey College's agent in Marienburg for many years.
Maude and Josef sought him out when they first passed through the port on the trail of Nancy Bechet. Dervalk had picked up on Nancy, (or rather, had sensed the evil emanating from The Brass Skull) when she was in Marienburg on her way to Bretonnia. She'd gave him the slip though.
